The first thing you should know is that your conversations in supermarkets are never private. There is always someone listening. Whether it’s the shelf stackers or the checkout staff, you can guarantee that someone is tuning into all of your discussions; the more personal, the better. Do you frequent your local supermarket habitually? Then you can almost guarantee that we gossip about you, give you cruel nicknames and judge you on your purchases; it’s surprising how much you can learn about a stranger simply by snooping in on their conversations and scanning their identical shopping lists week in, week out. It’s usually nothing personal; it just adds a little spark to the soul sucking, mind numbing monotony of supermarket life.
Here, in this blog, I'll share with you my tedious experience of serving abrupt customers, feeling like an over worked machine and the general feeling of misery that comes with working a dead end job.
Welcome to the laborious life as a Till Tart.
